Deploying NGN Services: Network Migration Strategies

The IMS has been portrayed as the key element of next-generation service delivery. The decomposed architecture allows the framework to be assembled piecemeal, driven by services. There is one element in particular that is fundamental to the success of services: the media server. But there are other obstacles to IMS deployment: network transport migration and handset availability.

In this workshop, we will explore services that can promote IMS adoption and the media elements necessary for their deployment. We will also examine how operators can leverage media / signalling gateways to connect NGN service deployments to their existing TDM or hybrid IP core networks.
